About Stag Handle Knives

What stag is, and the sizes

Stag is antler, left in its natural ridged texture rather than smoothed or dyed, which is why no two handles match exactly. Blade lengths run 2.5 to 18 inches, most near 4.5, and most of the collection carries a full tang for strength through the handle.

Stag or bone handle

Stag keeps its natural texture and grip in wet conditions; a bone handle knife is smoother and often dyed. Horn handle knives and wood handle knives are the other natural choices. Browse stag on a hunting knife, a Bowie knife or a folding knife.

Common questions

What is a stag handle on knives?

Stag is antler, shaped and fitted to the knife but left with its natural ridged surface rather than smoothed. It gives a firm grip when wet and a texture no two handles share exactly.

How do you care for a stag handle?

Keep it out of water and away from heat: wipe it with a damp cloth, dry it, and never soak it or put it in a dishwasher. Natural handles can crack or shrink as they dry, and our warranty covers that for 2 years from delivery.

Does a stag handle knife come with a sheath?

Yes. A fixed blade ships with a char leather belt sheath and a folder with a belt slip, both included at no extra cost, with the same pale welt and straw-gold stitching across the collection.

Can a stag handle knife be engraved as a gift?

Yes. Engraving is $19 a surface, cut by machine in one color, on the blade, the sheath or, where the product page offers it, the handle. Gift wrap adds $10 with a message.

Is a stag handle knife full tang?

Most are. Most of this collection runs a full tang through the handle; a smaller number are folding knives or use a hidden tang. Each product page states the tang for that knife.
