Carbon and satin steel knives from Crownridge are hand-forged from a single steel rather than pattern-welded Damascus: forged carbon steel with a satin or forge-scale finish, farrier rasp steel, and satin-finish steel. They cost less than Damascus of the same size, from $99, and each ships with its own leather.

Hunting knives, Bowie knives, cowboy knives and bull cutters, camp knives, kukris, skinners and pocket knives for the field, and chef knives, cleavers, boning, fillet and steak knives and kitchen sets for the table, with blades from 2.7 to 18 inches. Most are forged carbon steel; the farrier rasp knives are reforged from a horseshoe rasp. Each title names the steel or the finish, and the product page gives the lengths and the leather.
Both cut the same. Damascus is two steels forge-welded into a pattern, which takes more forging and costs more; a single carbon steel skips that step. Carbon steel darkens to a gray patina with use and needs the same care as Damascus: dry it after use, oil it, and keep it out of the dishwasher. For the pattern-welded versions, see our Damascus hunting knives, Damascus Bowie knives and Damascus chef knives, and read the knife care guide before the first use.
