Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of crownridgeknives.com (the "Site") and every purchase you make from Crownridge Knives ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Site or placing an order you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who may buy

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to purchase from us. By placing an order you confirm that you are 18 or older, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you may lawfully receive and possess the item you are ordering under the laws of your state and locality. We may cancel any order where we reasonably believe these conditions are not met.

2. Knife laws are your responsibility

Knife laws differ by state, county and city, including limits on blade length, carry and concealment. It is your responsibility to know and comply with the laws that apply to you. We do not sell automatic, switchblade, assisted-opening, gravity, ballistic, out-the-front or other restricted designs, and we will not modify a product to create one.

3. Products, variation and accuracy

Every knife is hand-forged and finished by hand. The Damascus pattern, grain and handle material vary from piece to piece, and no two are identical. Unless a listing says "exact knife shown", photographs show a representative example of that model. Each product page states the knife's specifications and our spec standard; we make every effort to keep them accurate and will correct errors when we find them. We may discontinue a product or change a specification at any time; changes never apply to an order already placed.

4. Prices and taxes

All prices are in US dollars; the checkout total is all you pay. Applicable US sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address. Shipping is free on orders of $99 or more and $9 on orders below that. We may change prices at any time, but a change never applies to an order already confirmed. If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may cancel the order and refund you in full before shipping.

5. Orders and payment

An order is accepted when we send you an order confirmation email. We may refuse or cancel an order for reasons including suspected fraud, an unverifiable address, an order from someone not eligible to buy or a pricing error; if we do, you are refunded in full. Payment is taken at the time of order through the payment methods shown at checkout. Made-to-order items are forged after payment and their lead time is shown on the product page.

6. Engraving and personalization

You are responsible for the spelling and content of any engraving you request. We reproduce it exactly as entered. We reserve the right to refuse engraving text that is offensive, infringes a third party's rights or is otherwise inappropriate, in which case we will contact you before proceeding. Personalized items cannot be returned for change of mind; see our Refund Policy.

7. Shipping, returns and warranty

Shipping terms are set out in our Shipping Policy, returns in our Refund Policy, and our Limited Lifetime Warranty on the Warranty page. Those documents form part of these Terms.

8. Safe use

Our products are sharp tools. Use them only for their intended purpose, keep them sheathed when not in use, and keep them away from children. Read the care guide supplied with your knife. We are not responsible for injury or damage arising from misuse, modification or failure to follow reasonable safety practices.

9. Reviews and content you submit

If you submit a review, photo or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display it on the Site and in our marketing, with your first name and last initial. You confirm that the content is yours, is honest and does not infringe anyone's rights. We publish reviews only after checking that they come from a verified purchase, and we do not edit their substance. We may decline to publish content that is abusive, off-topic or unlawful.

10. Intellectual property

The Site and everything on it, including the Crownridge Knives name and logo, product designs, photographs, video and text, are owned by or licensed to us and protected by trademark and copyright law. You may not copy, reproduce or use them commercially without our written permission.

11. Accounts and security

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything done under it. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Except for the express warranties in our Warranty page and any rights that cannot be excluded by law, the Site and our products are provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the product concerned, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem, please contact us first; we resolve almost everything by email within a few days. Any dispute that cannot be resolved that way will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may seek relief in small-claims court where eligible.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force when you place an order applies to that order. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
